Electromyography (EMG) is a diagnostic procedure that uses surface and needle electrodes to assess the health and function of muscles and the nerves controlling them.
EMG involves two main components: nerve conduction studies (NCS) and needle electromyography. It involves placement of surface electrodes on the skin over the muscle being tested. They are used for non- invasive measurement of electrical activity. Needle Electrodes which are thin and sterile needles are inserted directly into the muscle to record electrical activity. Needle electrodes allows for more detailed information from specific muscles. During the test, one might require to contract or relax specific muscles to observe how they respond.
These electrodes measure the electrical signals generated by muscle fibers when they contract. These signals are recorded and analyzed by our expert neurologists for abnormalities.
Our skilled neurologists and technologists conduct EMG testing using state-of-the-art equipment in a comfortable environment. We prioritize patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure, ensuring thorough and accurate assessment of neuromuscular function.
